Steve has certainly made his mark since joining the PDC, gaining his first TV appearence in 2004 after qualifying for the Ladbrokes.com World Championship.

That achievement proved to be valuable experience for Steve, who although wasn't reguarly competing on the circuit, travelled to Vegas in 2006 where he qualified for the PartyPoker.net Las Vegas Desert Classic defeating Alan Warriner-Little 4-0 to do so.
Steve then went on to defeat Dennis Ovens 6-2 in the first round and then played superbly well against the tournaments runner-up Raymond Van Barneveld in the second.

Since then Steve "Smudger" Smith has travelled all over the circuit and has carried his form through, qualifying for his second Ladbrokes.com World Championship (2006), which will definitely see him make a very significant rise in the Order of Merit rankings, where he was already 80th. The future looks bright for Smudger!
