defeats Manley & Dudbridge in Germany" - SMUDGER
defeated both Peter "One Dart" Manley & Mark "Flash"
Dudbridge in Germany this weekend. He defeated Dudbridge 3-0 (sets)
at Saturdays event & Manley 3-2 (sets) on Sunday. However, Steve
was unlucky not to advance further in the competitions as he narrowly
lost 3-2 to Darren Latham on Saturday & Matt Clark 3-0 on Sunday.

March 08
- "Last
16 in Brentwood!" - SMUDGER reached the last 16 at the
Southern UK Open Regional Final in Brentwood this weekend, before
losing to Michael Van Gerwen. He defeated Simon Craven 5-2, Kevin
Dowling 5-3 and Jamie Caven 5-4 before he lost out to the young Dutch
star 5-2. This run secures his place in the UK Open finals in June.

February 08
- "SMUDGER WINS ESSEX OPEN!"
Steve Smith takes the top prize of £1,000 at the 2008 Essex
Open, held at Ford Sports & Social Club. The final was was won
convincingly 4-0 against Essex County man Darren Peetoom.

December 07 - "SMUDGER reaches the last
32 in Germany!" - Steve made it to the last 32 in Germany
this weekend, at the PartyPoker.net German Darts Championship. He
defeated fellow Essex player, Steve Maish, 3-2 in sets in what was
a brilliant game. He then defeated Marek Brommelhaus 3-0 in sets before
being defeated by the Current World Champion, Raymond Van Barneveld
3-0. Despite the scoreline, it was a great performance by Smudger
who averaged almost 100 in his defeat!

5th
November 07
- "SMUDGER back & on form!" - Steve
made his return to the PDC circuit this weekend after a few months
off, and he was on form. He reached the last 32 at the Players Championship
in Killarney before being defeated by the in form player; Wayne Mardle.
He defeated Henry O'Neil 3-0, Vidal Pugales 3-0 and Mick McGowan 3-2
in sets before losing out to last weeks pro tour event winner in Germany.

27th
August 07
- "SMUDGER WINS LONDON MASTERS!" - Steve
Smith takes the top prize of £900 in the inaugural London Darts
Masters held at Tithe Farm last weekend. The final was a close affair
between PDC players Kevin McDine and Steve, both of whom beat Middlesex
countyplayers Jim Byrne and George McKie respectively. The event was
a complete success with many other top players in attendance including
Mark Walsh and Alan Caves.

23rd
July 07
- "Last 16 in Blackpool!" - SMUDGER reached
the last 16 at the Bobby Bourne Memorial Trophy in Blackpool this
weekend before losing to the winner of the tournament; World number
1 Phil "The Power" Taylor. He defeated Aaron Turner(3-0
in sets), Chris Mason(3-1) and Kevin Mcdine(3-2) before he met "The
Power".
